Famous etching of London’s ‘Gin Lane’ by William Hogarth. The picture was to be viewed alongside his other work ‘Beer street’ and was intended to show the evils of consuming gin in contrast to the merits of drinking beer.
Of course, as everyone knows, beer is truly horrendous and is undoubtedly the piss of Satan. Gin on the other hand is made from angel kisses and rainbows and puppies…and stuff.

Gin + Elderflower cordial + apple juice + squeeze of lime = an English Garden; the most perfect summer cocktail I’ve ever had. Yes, even more so than Pimm’s. It is divine, and this weather makes me really, really want one. In fact, I might just go and buy some Elderflower and apple right now.
